The amount is $8,699,000.00 for the Base Bid and $162,000.00 for the Additive Alternate No. 1 for a total contract award amount of $8,861,000.00. The project title is: Construct Replacement Building 4260. The work to be performed consists of providing the labor, equipment, and materials to construct a two-story office building at the Marshall Space Flight Center, Alabama. The interior spaces consist of offices for approximately 100 people, conference rooms, break rooms, and other support rooms (such copy rooms and mail rooms). The project includes structural steel framing, cast-in-place concrete slabs, membrane roofing system, curtain wall system, indirect/direct light fixtures, and site development (including paving and sidewalks). Also, the project will include the extensions to off-site utilities. The project is registered under the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program and is designed to achieve a certified Silver level rating. A LEED accredited professional is required on the Contractors staff. Use of recycled content materials and implementation of construction waste management and indoor air quality plans are required.

Added: Mar 15, 2013 10:48 am NASA, Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for Construct Replacement Building 4260. The work to be performed consists of providing the labor, equipment, and materials to construct a two-story office building at the Marshall Space Flight Center, Alabama. The interior spaces consist of offices for approximately 100 people, conference rooms, break rooms, and other support rooms (such copy rooms and mail rooms). The project includes structural steel framing, cast-in-place concrete slabs, membrane roofing system, curtain wall system, indirect/direct light fixtures, and site development (including paving and sidewalks). Also, the project will include the extensions to off-site utilities. The project is registered under the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program and is designed to achieve a certified Silver level rating. A LEED accredited professional is required on the Contractors staff. Use of recycled content materials and implementation of construction waste management and indoor air quality plans are required. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $5,000,000 to $10,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 365 calendar days after notice to proceed. All packages requested must be in writing and contain the company name, physical address, e-mail address, point of contact, and phone numbers. An e-mail request will be sufficient, just be sure to reference the solicitation number above. Request for IFB packages should be made to the below listed personnel. Requests for IFB packages will not be accepted less than 10 days prior to bid opening. Award of this project is contingent upon the availability of funds. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 236220 and $33.5 million in average annual receipts, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about April 15, 2013 with an anticipated bid closing date on or about May 20, 2013. The firm date for receipt of bids or proposals will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be put on a compact disk (CD) and mailed to prospective bidders who have notified this office in writing of their intent to submit a bid. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. Safety records of the prime contractor and subcontractor will be a consideration at award time and the prime contractor must have an EXPERIENCED MODIFICATION RATING (EMR) of 1.0 or less and proof included within the bid package. The prime subcontractors EMR rating shall be no more than 1.1. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement, with the exception of the specifications and drawings, will be available over the Internet. FAR 52.236-27 Site Visit (Construction) (Feb 1995) Alternate I (Feb 1995) (a) The clauses at 52.236-2, Differing Site Conditions, and 52.236-3, Site Investigations and Conditions Affecting the Work, will be included in any contract awarded as a result of the solicitation. Accordingly, offerors or quoters are urged and expected to inspect the site where the work will be performed. (b) An organized site visit has not been scheduled at this time.
