About this opportunity

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a non-competitive contract to the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) for conference exhibit space. The contract covers two double-wide exhibiting booths at the NSBE conference in Chicago, Illinois, scheduled for March 5-9, 2025. USPTO has determined that NSBE is the sole qualified source for handling the entire black engineering community's conference needs. The procurement will be conducted using the Alternate Competition Method under the Patent and Trademark Acquisition Guidelines, with an exemption from the Competition in Contracting Act. The estimated contract value is $30,000, with an anticipated award date of February 14, 2025.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to secure exhibit space and associated services for the USPTO at the NSBE conference, including booth rental, high back and side drapes, tables, chairs, and booth identification signage. Contractors should note the key deadline of January 30, 2025, for submitting any questions in writing to the Contracting Officer, Yen Nguyen, via email. The notice explicitly states that this is not a request for competitive proposals, and NSBE is the only eligible contractor for this specific opportunity. The conference aims to provide a platform for the black engineering community, with NSBE being recognized as the sole provider of programming for its members. Interested parties should carefully review the detailed requirements and understand that this is a sole-source procurement with specific parameters set by the USPTO.
