About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, is soliciting bids for steel upper machinery housing and roof replacement at the Gantry Crane hoists at Conemaugh Dam, with bids due August 21, 2026. The procurement is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside, restricted to firms meeting the $45 million size standard for NAICS 237990.
Place of performance is 1665 Auen Road, Saltsburg, Pennsylvania. Work includes removal of existing housing to floor line, fabrication and installation of new steel housing, removal and replacement of steel diamond plate flooring with open grating, installation of floor hatches for personnel and equipment access, and replacement of electrical conduit, wiring, and lighting. The upper machinery housings are extensively corroded with heavy steel loss, allowing water infiltration that affects hoist electrical and mechanical equipment. Flooring and access hatches are obsolete and permit vermin infestation, impeding access to limit switches.
The contract will be awarded as a single Firm-Fixed Price award. Period of Performance is 540 calendar days after written Notice to Proceed. The Independent Government Estimate was $4,171,430.67. Four bids were received at the August 21 opening: Reagent World, Inc., at $1,298,760.00; Koala Construction and Roofing at $2,975,000.00; Alltech Engineering Corp at $4,102,000.00; and MRP Stefanik JV, LLC at $4,741,183.00. Reagent World, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive bid. Amendment 0001 extended the bid opening and updated specifications. PSC code is Y1QA, Construction of Restoration of Real Property.
