Parking Garage Expansion, projected at the Salt Lake City (VAMC), located at 500 Foothill Drive Salt Lake City, Utah 84148.

This will be a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-aside.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has need for a general construction contractor to provide all labor, materials and equipment as necessary to construct a post-tensioned cast-in-place, concrete expansion of an existing open parking structure on the North West section of the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center campus located in Salt Lake City, UT. NCO 19 is conducting market research to determine if sufficient competition exists in the Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) socio-economic programs. The SDVOSB and VOSB firms must have the capability and capacity to perform work with a construction magnitude between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.

The NAICS code for this procurement will be 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The parking expansion includes a new one-story vertical expansion over the existing parking garage. The garage will expand horizontally to include a ground floor plus 2 elevated floors. A portion of the existing on-grade parking will be replaced by the horizontal garage expansion. The total of additional parking structure is 106,000 square feet. A roof will be constructed to cover the entirety of the open parking garage. The structure will accommodate approximately 346 new parking spaces. Work shall include, but may not be limited to, all general construction, alterations, roads, curb, gutters, walks, grading, drainage, landscaping, mechanical, fire protection and sprinkler system, technology and electrical work, extensions and alterations to utility systems, elevators, stairwells, rooftop equipment and, any and all necessary removal, modifications, demolition, alterations of existing structures and construction and certain other items to construct the complete project. The current small business size standard for 236220 is $36.5 million.

The POC for this project will be Josiah Benton. He can be contacted at 303-372-7026 or email at josiah.benton@va.gov.

Important Notice: Apparent successful offerors must apply for and receive verification from the Department of Veteran Affairs Center for Verification and Evaluation (CVE) in accordance with 38 CFR Part 74 and VAAR 819.70 by submission of documentation of Veteran status, ownership and control sufficient to establish appropriate status, offerors must be both VISIBLE and VERIFIED by the Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Verification and Evaluation prior to contract award. Failure to be both VERIFIED by CVE and VISIBLE on VetBiz prior to contract award will result in the offeror's proposal being deemed non-compliant. All offerors are urged to contact the CVE and submit the aforementioned required documents to obtain CVE verification of their SDVOSB status if they have not already done so.
