About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is seeking to procure 9 units of a Computer, Flight Control system under NSN 7R-6615-015486318-V2. This procurement falls under the Automatic Pilot Mechanisms And Airborne Gyro Components category and involves specialized aviation equipment that must be acquired from sources specified on a source control or selected item drawing per DoD-STD-100 requirements. The government lacks suitable technical data, data rights, or manufacturing knowledge to permit acquisition from alternative sources or qualification testing of substitute parts. The agency intends to negotiate with only one source under FAR authority, indicating a sole source procurement approach. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on September 19, 2025, with responses due by November 3, 2025, and delivery terms are FOB Origin.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations, making it available to all qualifying contractors. The notice does not identify any current incumbents or potential contractors by name, though it emphasizes that only sources specified on approved control drawings can supply this specialized flight control equipment. No specific contract value or budget range is disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice. The quantity requirement is limited to 9 units of the flight control computer system, and the procurement follows DoD standard procedures for items requiring source control due to the lack of available technical data packages or government data rights that would enable competitive sourcing.
