About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support) is seeking to procure five (5) FMS Spares of a specific aircraft computer (NSN 7R-1680-014832472-BL) for the CH-53 helicopter. This competitive procurement will be conducted under FAR Part 12 for commercial items, with electronic procedures to be used via NECO. The government has identified this as a sole-source opportunity with only two approved sources: TRANSAERO INC and SIKORSKY AIRCRAFT CORP, both of which are expected to be considered for award. Interested organizations must submit their capabilities and qualifications to Sophia Pugh via email by January 30, 2025, which is the response closing date. The solicitation will be posted on December 30, 2024, with no telephone requests or hard copy submissions accepted. Any firm not currently approved to manufacture the material must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR), though this will not delay the procurement process.
There are no specific set-aside designations for this contract, and it is open to all responsible sources that can meet the requirements. The anticipated award date is January 30, 2025, with the procurement using NAICS code 336413 and PSC code 1680 for miscellaneous aircraft accessories and components. The contract involves a specialized computer component for which the government does not own data or manufacturing rights, making it a unique procurement with limited potential sources. The total quantity is five units, to be delivered FOB Origin, with no drawings or additional data available beyond the specified part number D60381MK241114. This procurement appears to be a targeted, specialized acquisition aimed at maintaining specific aircraft equipment with a relatively narrow pool of potential suppliers.
