About this opportunity

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center published a Special Notice seeking a contractor to compute topography Digital Elevation Models using Structure-from-Motion algorithms tailored for Venus applications in support of the DaVinci mission. The contractor will optimize algorithms using datasets from past Mars and asteroid missions to validate Venus descent imaging techniques.

The objective of the Special Notice is to acquire a contractor to conduct experimental SfM computations and algorithm development for Venus terrain mapping applications. Interested parties have until January 22, 2024 to submit capabilities for potential award of a sole source contract to Situation Awareness Systems LLC, or to be considered for a competitive procurement. The contractor must integrate drone testing of Venus analogues, provide algorithm inputs to the DaVinci PI, and support publications. The period of performance is February 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024 to be conducted in Reno, Nevada.
