About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure two compressor units (NSN 7H-4310-015479404) with Technical Data Package (TDP) Version 004, to be delivered FOB Origin. The government intends to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, meaning competitive bidding may be limited. Interested parties have 45 days from the publication date (posted February 5, 2025, with a due date of April 30, 2025) to submit proposals, capability statements, or expressions of interest. The government has determined it is uneconomical to purchase data rights or reverse engineer the part, which may impact potential competing contractors. Interested vendors can obtain relevant specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) online or by contacting their help desk in Philadelphia, PA.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations are in place for this contract opportunity. The quantity is explicitly stated as two (2) units of the compressor, with delivery expected at the origin point. While no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement is categorized under PSC Category 4310-P for Compressors and Vacuum Pumps. The government has explicitly stated that this notice is not a competitive proposal request, but will consider all submissions received within the specified timeframe. Potential contractors have 15 days to identify if they can satisfy the requirement with a commercial item, though the government is not applying FAR Part 12 policies for commercial item acquisition in this solicitation.
