About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking repair and modification services for reciprocating compressors under National Stock Number (NSN) 7H-4310-016719299, Technical Data Package Version 002. This procurement will be conducted as a single-source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, meaning the government intends to negotiate with only one source; however, all responsible sources may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements to demonstrate their interest and capability. The government does not possess the data or rights necessary to procure these repairs from alternative sources, and has determined that obtaining such data or reverse engineering the component would be uneconomical. Interested parties can access relevant Military and Federal Specifications, Standards, Qualified Products Lists, and other standardized documents through the DoD Single Stock Point at the Document Automation and Production Service in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or via ASSIST-Online. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on February 13, 2025, with a due date of February 27, 2026, providing interested parties an extended window to prepare their responses and gather necessary technical documentation.
This procurement carries no set-aside designation and involves the repair and modification of three compressor units with delivery required at point of origin (FOB Origin). No incumbent contractor, potential award value, or detailed budget range is specified in the pre-solicitation notice. The quantity requirement is clearly defined as three units, and the notice emphasizes that patterns, drawings, deviation lists, purchase descriptions, and other proprietary technical documentation are not available through standard government channels but must be obtained through the referenced sources or by contacting the DODSSP ASSIST Help Desk directly. The extended timeline between the posting date and due date suggests the government is allowing adequate time for prospective contractors to identify the necessary technical specifications and assess their capability to perform the required repair and modification work.
