d. If a beneficiary is admitted to and discharged in the same calendar day, payment will be made for one day.

e. Should a patient referred to a residential care setting be absent in an unauthorized manner, payment for services for that veteran to the residential treatment setting may be continued for a period of two days, provided there is an active outreach attempt on the part of the residential treatment setting staff to return the veteran to the Residential Care Program and strong likelihood that the patient will return.
