About this opportunity
The Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (ERDC-CRREL) is seeking commercial solutions through a Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) to support research and development initiatives across five primary thrust areas: building cold region domain awareness, enhancing mobility and maneuver in cold region environments, integrated ice operations, advanced materials development in extreme cold conditions, resilient cold region energy systems, and advancements in cryospheric biochemical applications. The Department of the Army Corps of Engineers is conducting this procurement on behalf of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology), Army Futures Command, US Army Corps of Engineers, and other government organizations. Solutions will be evaluated based on their relevance and applicability to the specified research and development areas, though the notice does not explicitly detail comprehensive evaluation criteria. The solicitation accepts submissions beginning January 12, 2026, with a submission deadline of 5:00 PM Central Standard Time on December 31, 2026. All solutions must be submitted via the ERDCWERX platform, and detailed submission requirements and CSO specifics are available at https://www.erdcwerx.org/about/resources/commercial-solutions-opening/.
This solicitation carries no set-aside designation, making it open to all qualified vendors regardless of business size or ownership status. The notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or provide specific award values or budget ranges. The place of performance is located in Hanover, New Hampshire 03755, where ERDC-CRREL operates. While the solicitation remains open for the entire calendar year 2026, individual program requirements may impose earlier deadlines as specified. The broad scope of this CSO and extended submission period suggests the government anticipates receiving innovative solutions throughout the fiscal year to address various cold region research challenges.
