About this opportunity

NASA's Ames Research Center has issued a Special Notice for commercial aviation services to support the Airborne Science Program within the Science Mission Directorate. The notice specifically seeks to add a Gulfstream IV aircraft to an existing contract for NASA's airborne science missions. The aircraft will be used for deploying remote sensing instruments crucial for satellite calibration and earth system research. NASA intends to issue a sole source contract to Dynamic Aviation under specific federal acquisition regulations. The opportunity is classified under the Nonscheduled Chartered Freight Air Transportation NAICS category and is seeking commercial aviation services.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to acquire a long-range, high-altitude aircraft with specific technical specifications by May 15, 2025. The Gulfstream IV must have a minimum range of 2,500 miles, operate at altitudes of at least 35,000 feet, and include two 16-inch square nadir ports capable of supporting up to 100 lbs of instruments. Interested organizations are invited to submit their capabilities and qualifications electronically to Joshua.D.Taggart@nasa.gov by February 20, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. CT. NASA will evaluate submitted capabilities solely to determine whether to conduct the acquisition on a competitive basis, with the final decision remaining at the government's discretion. The acquisition will be processed using FAR Part 12 for commercial services, and contractors should note the applicable NASA Clause 1852.215-84 regarding the procurement ombudsman.
