About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Space Command is seeking to upgrade the Command Post Communication System at Buckley Space Force Base, specifically focusing on replacing the aging Unify console telecommunications infrastructure. The procurement involves modernizing two primary communication controller positions located in the Primary Command Post and two in the Alternate Command Post, both currently connected to an end-of-life HiPath host server. The contract opportunity is classified under the Electronic Computer Manufacturing NAICS category and IT and Telecom Application Development Software PSC category, indicating a technical telecommunications system replacement. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on March 5, 2025, with responses due by March 14, 2025, suggesting a compressed timeline for potential contractors to prepare and submit their proposals. While specific evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed in the notice, the core objective appears to be replacing non-serviceable communication system hardware with modern, fully functional telecommunications infrastructure.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations, meaning the opportunity is open to all qualified contractors. The current system utilizes Unify consoles (formerly Siemens Enterprise Communication System) across four controller positions at two distinct locations within Buckley Space Force Base in Colorado. While exact budget or award values are not specified, the scope involves comprehensive telecommunications system modernization, including server and hardware replacement. The geographic locations for the system upgrade are precisely identified as Building 1030, Room 30 and Building 730, Room 170K, with specific street addresses provided for each site. The critical technical requirement is replacing the current HiPath server and associated hardware that have reached end-of-life status, necessitating a complete system overhaul to maintain critical command post communication capabilities.
