About this opportunity

NIST is conducting market research to identify alternative sources capable of meeting its minimum requirements for precision resistive voltage dividers with buffer amplifiers and switches, with responses due by August 4, 2026. The notice simultaneously expresses intent to award a sole-source contract, indicating NIST has identified a preferred vendor but is seeking competing alternatives under FAR Part 13.

NIST seeks four CLINs across three voltage divider configurations. CLIN 0001 specifies three precision resistive voltage dividers with 0.001 ratio for 500 V measurement, 100 kilohm nominal input resistance, SHV input and type N female output connectors, 40 Hz to 6 kHz frequency range, ac-dc transfer difference less than 5 parts in 10^6 at power frequencies, and phase error less than 5 microradians. Each unit includes connecting cables, calibration certificate, and manual. CLIN 0002 calls for three dividers with 0.003 ratio for 330 V, 67 kilohm input resistance, identical connector and frequency specifications, and matching transfer and phase error tolerances. CLIN 0003 specifies three dividers with 0.006 ratio for 166 V, 33 kilohm input resistance, and identical electrical performance requirements. CLIN 0004 procures three precision buffer amplifiers, each supplied with 16 V AC power supply and connector for +/− 1 voltage.

Place of performance is not specified. No set-aside applies.

NIST has not yet determined its acquisition strategy for this requirement and encourages interested sources to respond to this Notice.

If NIST’s market research indicates there are alternative sources that are capable and interested in competing to fill this requirement, separate and apart from Department of Industry Science and Resources (UEI: R2WHHLGCKJ74) then NIST will consider conducting a competitive acquisition in accordance with law and regulation. To be clear, NIST’s identification of Department of Industry Science and Resources in this Notice does not constitute a binding commitment or obligation for it to conduct a sole source procurement with Department of Industry Science and Resources for this requirement.
