About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting a combined Request for Information and Synopsis to procure RADOMEs (radome assemblies classified under NAICS 336413 for aircraft parts manufacturing). This pre-solicitation notice serves as market research to identify alternative sources, determine availability of commercial or non-developmental items, and enhance small business access and competition within the acquisition process. Interested parties are invited to submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations demonstrating their ability to meet the government's requirements. The primary contact for this opportunity is Johnny Wakefield at 385-591-3547 or johnny.wakefield.2@us.af.mil. Parties interested in proposing commercial item solutions have 15 days from the notice posting date to contact the contracting officer with their capabilities. The response deadline for this pre-solicitation notice is January 23, 2026, and interested parties should note that this announcement does not constitute a commitment by the government to contract or pay for any information solicited.

The requirement is for 15 units of RADOMEs with National Stock Number 1560-01-179-8343 and part numbers BD0610001-107 and 16VB008-6, with an estimated delivery date of January 8, 2027. This procurement will not be set aside for small businesses, meaning all responsible sources are eligible to compete. The government does not currently plan to utilize commercial item acquisition procedures under Part 12; however, the contracting officer will consider any commercial solutions proposed within the specified timeframe. The selected source must possess approved engineering capability and source approval from the design control activity to maintain part quality, as this component requires specialized manufacturing knowledge and technical data retention. The government indicates that qualified sources possess unique design capabilities and engineering expertise that are not economically available from alternative suppliers, suggesting this may be a limited-source procurement.
