About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research to procure power supply units (NSN 6130-01-272-8813) through a combined Request for Information and Synopsis. This pre-solicitation notice is not a formal Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid, but rather an exploratory mechanism to identify capable sources, determine commercial or non-developmental item availability, and enhance competition through improved small business access to acquisition information. The agency is seeking to understand whether alternative suppliers exist and if substitute items can meet operational requirements. Interested parties should contact Johnny Wakefield at johnny.wakefield.2@us.af.mil for additional information. The response deadline for this market research inquiry is December 26, 2025, with an archive date of December 26, 2026.
The requirement is not designated as a small business set-aside, indicating the Government does not expect to restrict competition to disadvantaged business concerns. The procurement involves an estimated quantity of 109 units of power supplies, with part numbers 2816638, 2816638-1, and 2816638-2, classified under NAICS 335931 (Current-Carrying Wiring Device Manufacturing). The anticipated contract duration spans 14 months with an estimated delivery schedule, and the supplies are intended for delivery to USAF-FB2029. According to the justification statement, supplies are reportedly available from only one or limited responsible sources, making reverse engineering uneconomical and data acquisition prohibitively expensive. The contracting office is located at DLA Aviation, 6051 Gum Lane, Hill AFB, UT 84056, under solicitation number SPRHA4-26-R-0104.
