HEC is partnering with ERDC-CHL to conduct flume experiments to compute the advection-dispersion coefficients for bedload transport. In order to compute these coefficients, we need to track sediment particles in time. CHL and HEC have developed a process to use colored sand in a flume to track sediment temporally. These experiments will require large volumes of colored sand.
The contractor shall supply approximately 30 pallets of 50lb bags of colored sand (>98% quartz) in 5 colors and 4 gradations. Particle coloring process shall include pigment dispersion and heat curing.
The first shipment (approx 15 pallets) shall be delivered by 6 December 2013. The order for the second shipment will be finalized the week of 14 December 2013, for delivery on 30 December 2013.
Please review the attached solicitation (PDF) carefully and return pricing information on the attached pricing schedule (.xls).
If you have any questions, please contact the contract specialist at joseph.j.hetrick@usace.army.mil
