About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support Clothing and Textiles division is seeking sources to produce Marine Corps Sky Blue Cloth, specifically wool cloth with NSN 8305-01-248-0977, conforming to MIL-DTL-10176L specifications. The procurement requires Berry Amendment compliance, meaning all components must be of domestic origin as mandated by DFARS clause 252.225-7012. Vendors must produce a 60" minimum width wool/polyester blend gabardine cloth in Shade #2319, which will undergo rigorous quality assurance testing including yard-by-yard examination and shade evaluation. The technical specifications demand precise manufacturing processes, including sponging, semi-decating, and meeting specific physical property requirements. Interested vendors are required to submit their responses by March 20, 2025, and can direct any questions to Stephanie DeSanto and Marcia Henson at their provided DLA email addresses.
The solicitation does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned in the documentation. While the exact award value is not specified, the procurement appears to be for textile production with detailed technical requirements for military uniform cloth. The cloth must meet stringent quality standards, including specific weight ranges between 6.0 and 10.3 ounces per square yard depending on the cloth type, and must pass comprehensive testing at the DLA Product Testing Center within a 45-day completion timeline. The procurement is categorized under NAICS code 313310 for Textile and Fabric Finishing Mills and PSC code 8305 for Textile Fabrics. Vendors must demonstrate capability to produce a consistent, high-quality product that meets the military's precise textile specifications and domestic manufacturing requirements.
