Notice text
The National Institutes of Health intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Parallel6, Inc.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Eye Institute (NEI) eyeGENE® was initiated in 2004, the program scope was narrowly defined as relating to only vision research. Since that time, both Institutional and Review Board leadership has requested an expanded scope of the consent agreement to include end-points that may not be strictly vision related or that may have unknown biological consequences. This change in requirement requires that the program staff contact over 6,000 participants to get consent for the types of research that is desired. Additionally, the program has new requirements related to patient engagement as it seeks to obtain additional clinical information from participants. The program seeks to implement and acquire a software license for Clinical6 software solution to address the new program requirements.
