About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command's 628th Contracting Squadron at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina has issued a notice of intent to award a single source Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to Vertical Reality, Inc. The contract involves annual inspection and repairs of climbing walls and belay systems at three recreational facilities. This special notice is published under Federal Acquisition Regulation 13.106-1(b)(1), which allows contracting officers to solicit from a single source for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold when circumstances indicate only one source is reasonably available. The work will cover two indoor climbing walls and one mobile climbing wall located at facilities in Goose Creek, Charleston, and Moncks Corner, South Carolina. The reference number for this procurement is FA441825Q0040.

The primary objective of this special notice is to inform the contracting community of the government's intent to proceed with a non-competitive award while providing an opportunity for other qualified sources to submit quotations for consideration. The required performance period is set to begin September 1, 2025, with responses due by August 26, 2025. Although this is not a request for competitive proposals, responsible sources may submit quotations that the agency will consider, though the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Contractors interested in participating should have capabilities in sporting and athletic goods manufacturing, specifically in the inspection and repair of recreational climbing equipment. Responses and questions should be directed to SSgt Luke M. Jackson at the 628th Contracting Squadron. The government emphasizes that any information received will primarily be used to determine whether competitive procurement is warranted for this requirement.
