About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Test Center is conducting a market survey to identify qualified sources capable of providing classified IT destruction services at Edwards Air Force Base in California. The procurement seeks contractors to perform complete onsite classified IT destruction including disassembly, sorting, and shredding of IT equipment to 2-millimeter specifications in compliance with NSA 9-12 requirements or Air Force-granted waivers. Key qualifications for interested offerors include holding NSA 9-12 certification or possessing a waiver/approval letter to conduct destruction services, maintaining Tier 3 security clearances for personnel performing destruction work, and demonstrating experience with classified IT destruction operations. Evaluation criteria focus on contractor experience in providing this specialized support, compliance with security clearance requirements, and business size classification as either small or large business. The sources sought notice was posted on March 19, 2026, with responses due by March 26, 2026; however, this is explicitly identified as a market survey for information gathering only and is not a formal solicitation with a guaranteed contract award.

This pre-solicitation notice carries no set-aside designation for small businesses or other socioeconomic categories. No incumbent contractor or current contract holder is identified in the notice, and no specific contract award value or budget range is disclosed at this market survey stage. The period of performance is defined as one week from the contract award date (estimated as "1 week ARO"), indicating a short-duration engagement focused on completing the destruction work. Interested offerors must provide company information including DUNS number, CAGE code, points of contact, evidence of NSA 9-12 requirements compliance, and business size classification in their responses. The contractor will be responsible for supplying all labor, equipment (except government-furnished shred trucks), supplies, tools, materials, and supervision, with work scheduled during standard business hours of 0800-1600 Monday through Friday, except federal holidays, though occasional weekend and holiday work may be required on 72-hour notice.
