About this opportunity

The Navajo Area Indian Health Service is issuing a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract modification to Southwest Kidney for nephrology clinic services at Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility in Chinle, Arizona, with responses due by September 9, 2026. This is not a competitive solicitation; the Government intends to modify purchase order 75H71024P00883 to expand clinic capacity from two four-hour sessions per week (Monday and Thursday, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM) to four four-hour sessions per week. Southwest Kidney is deemed the only organization uniquely qualified to provide uninterrupted services to approximately 35,000 Navajo patients without disrupting direct patient care.

Any party wishing to challenge the sole-source rationale must submit clear and convincing evidence that competition would benefit the Government by the closing date. No competitive quotes will be issued. The Government is under no obligation to acknowledge or provide feedback on responses received. If no affirmative written objection is filed by the deadline, the contract modification will be awarded without further notice. Information submitted will be used solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future; any resulting solicitation will be posted to Federal Business Opportunities separately.

The modified contract extends through April 30, 2027. The contractor must supply a qualified nephrology physician holding MD or DO degree, board certification in internal medicine and nephrology, current unrestricted state medical license, DEA Schedule II-V authorization, and required immunizations and CPR/ACLS certifications. Performance will be evaluated on patient care quality, cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and timely medical record documentation within four days of each encounter.
