MANDATORY Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled for 9:00 AM CDT on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Prospective bidders are to meet at the project site. Directions to the site: From Interstate 40, take exit 278 at Warner. Go south on Route 2 for 5.4 miles. Turn left (east) onto Local Route E1110. Travel about 2.10 miles to the junction of Local Route N4370. The site is on the northeast corner of E1110 and N4370 and will be on your left. Latitude 35, 24', 26.8"; Longitude 95, 14', 18.24".
Prospective bidders must be present at the start of the Pre-Bid Meeting as announced by the Contracting Officer, sign-in at the Pre-Bid Meeting, and remain in attendance until the Site Visit is concluded for sealed bid to be accepted.

Added: Jun 07, 2012 3:15 pm The Department of the Interior's Office of Surface Mining Reclamation & Enforcement intends to release an Invitation for Bid (IFB), Solicitation No. S12PS00030, for the Cherokee West Reclamation Project on or about June 22, 2012. This is a total small business set-aside. NAICS 237990 is applicable. Size standard is $33.5M. Work includes grading and revegetating approximately 10 acres of abandoned strip mine lands to: 1) eliminate the safety threat posed by several steep and unstable embankments, 2) eliminate the safety threat posed by steep slopes associated with a final pit impoundment, 3) eliminate a dangerous highwall adjacent to a public road, and 4) remove and properly dispose of a small residential waste dump. The project site is located within the Porum Recreation Area, owned and managed by the Cherokee Nation, approximately four miles northeast of Porum in Muskogee County, Oklahoma. Estimated price range is $100,000 - $250,000. The official release of the IFB will be posted on https://www.fedconnect.net.
