About this opportunity

The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division in Lakehurst, New Jersey is issuing a Firm Fixed Price competitive solicitation for Peculiar Support Equipment (PSE) items in support of the CH-53K Program and Foreign Military Sales Program for Israel. The procurement focuses on specialized slings and lifting equipment used in O-Level maintenance operations for the CH-53K aircraft, with 15 line items identified in the attached PSE item list. Contractors must meet Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 requirements, which mandate implementation of the 110 security requirements outlined in NIST SP 800-171 Rev. 2 to protect Controlled Unclassified Information in contractor information systems, with self-assessment scores to be submitted to SPRS. The formal solicitation number N68335-26-R-1028 will be posted on the SAM website, and interested vendors should monitor that platform for all solicitation details and amendments, as no telephone or written requests for information prior to release will be accepted. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on January 14, 2026, with an initial response deadline of March 14, 2026.

This procurement carries a Total Small Business set-aside designation, restricting competition to small business concerns. The specific PSE items required include various slings and lifting equipment for CH-53K aircraft components such as engine assemblies, nose gearboxes, auxiliary power units, hydraulic modules, and main rotor systems, each identified by corresponding National Stock Numbers. While the pre-solicitation notice does not disclose specific award values or total contract budget ranges, the competitive nature of the FFP contract and the focus on specialized aircraft support equipment suggest a procurement of moderate significance. No current incumbent contractor or potential award value has been identified in the pre-solicitation materials. Vendors seeking to compete should ensure they are small business certified and prepared to demonstrate CMMC Level 2 compliance, with Level 2 assessments required every three years following contract award.

Update #2 · Latest ·

This synopsis is hereby amended to include the following CMMC Requirement:

Cybersecurity is a top priority for the Department of Defense (DoD). The defense industrial base (DIB) faces increasingly frequent and complex cyberattacks. To strengthen DIB cybersecurity and better safeguard DoD information, the DoD developed the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Program to assess DoD cybersecurity requirements pertaining to Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

The items in this acquisition have been deemed to fall into CMMC Level 2- Self-Assessment. CMMC Level 2 requires implementation of the 110 security requirements set forth in NIST SP 800–171 Rev. 2 to protect CUI in contractor information systems. Level 2 assessments are conducted every three years. CMMC Level 2 self-assessment scores are entered by the OSA into SPRS.
