About this opportunity
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is seeking to procure DI Medium A-Kits for the CH-53K rotary wing aircraft through a sole-source order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-23-G-0002. The contract will be awarded directly to Sikorsky, A Lockheed Martin Company, located in Stratford, Connecticut, using the authority of 10 U.S.C.2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, which allows for a single-source procurement when no other supplier can satisfy agency requirements. The pre-solicitation notice indicates that the government intends to negotiate and award the contract without competitive bidding. The opportunity was posted on April 1, 2025, with responses due by April 16, 2025. Companies interested in potential subcontracting opportunities are encouraged to contact Jason Lockwood, Sikorsky's Subcontracting Manager, at 203-225-3657.
The contract does not have a specific set-aside designation and will cover a base order of 20 kits with options for subsequent lots of 22, 21, 24, and 24 additional kits. The procurement falls under the NAICS category 336413 for Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing and the PSC category 1520 for Rotary Wing Aircraft. While specific award values are not disclosed, the multi-lot structure suggests a significant potential contract value. The sole-source nature of the procurement indicates that Sikorsky is considered the only qualified manufacturer capable of meeting the precise technical requirements for these CH-53K helicopter A-Kits. The contract will be executed through the Department of the Navy's Naval Air Systems Command, a defense-oriented federal agency responsible for aircraft procurement and maintenance.
