About this opportunity
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) based at NAS Patuxent River, MD, is seeking to procure eight DI Medium A-Kits for the CH-53K rotary wing aircraft through a sole-source order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-23-G-0002. The procurement will be directly awarded to Sikorsky, A Lockheed Martin Company, located in Stratford, CT, utilizing the authority of 10 U.S.C.2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, which allows for negotiation with a single source when no other supplier can satisfy agency requirements. This contract opportunity falls under the NAICS category 336413 for Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing and the Product Service Code 1520 for Rotary Wing Aircraft. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on February 4, 2025, with responses due by February 20, 2025. Companies interested in potential subcontracting opportunities are advised to contact Jason Lockwood, Sikorsky's Subcontracting Manager, at 203-225-3657.
This contract does not have a specific set-aside designation and represents a direct procurement for the Department of the Navy's Naval Air Systems Command. The sole-source nature of the contract indicates that Sikorsky is the exclusive provider capable of meeting the precise technical specifications for the CH-53K aircraft A-Kits. While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the procurement involves eight medium A-Kits for a critical military rotary wing aircraft platform. The contract will be executed under the existing Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-23-G-0002, suggesting a pre-established relationship between NAVAIR and Sikorsky. The procurement represents a targeted acquisition of specialized aircraft components, highlighting the defense sector's need for precise, manufacturer-specific equipment.
