About this opportunity
NASA Langley Research Center announced its intent to extend contract NNL13AA14C, the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering (CMOE) contract, with Amentum Technology, Inc. on a sole-source basis through September 30, 2026, with interested organizations able to submit capabilities statements by July 1, 2026.
The extension covers two months (August 1 through September 30, 2026) at an approximate cost of $34 million, bringing total contract value to $1.051 billion. NASA is exercising the sole-source authority under 10 U.S.C. 2304 and FAR 6.302-1 based on the determination that only Amentum can provide uninterrupted services without substantial duplication of cost. The extension bridges the phase-in period before the CMOE II contract takes effect on October 1, 2026, allowing Amentum to migrate from Jacobs Technology's legacy business systems (accounting, timecard, contract management) to Amentum's systems and synchronize multiple operational systems.
CMOE provides critical research operations and maintenance across NASA Langley's facilities, including wind tunnel and laboratory operations, central utilities management (steam, compressed air, electrical power distribution, potable water), facility automation and data acquisition system administration, preventive and reliability-centered maintenance, and facility engineering services. The Government does not intend to compete this extension on a full and open basis. Organizations may submit written capabilities and qualifications to the point of contact by 2:00 p.m. Eastern time on July 1, 2026.
