About this opportunity

The Special Notice announces an Edge Computing Industry Day hosted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) Office of Information and Technology, Operational Technology Division (OpsTech). The event was originally scheduled for October 22, 2025, from 2:00-3:30 PM EST as a virtual session, but has been postponed due to a government funding lapse with December 31, 2025 serving as a placeholder date. This Industry Day is part of CBP's Industry Partnership and Outreach Program Office (IPOP) FY26 first quarter activities. The Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Protection agency published this notice to engage with industry partners regarding edge computing capabilities. The notice explicitly states this is not a Request for Proposal or invitation for bid, and the government does not intend to make awards based on the event.

The primary purpose of this Industry Day is to foster collaboration between CBP and industry partners to explore innovative edge computing solutions that can enhance mission-critical operations and strengthen operational effectiveness at the edge. CBP's OpsTech division aims to share current edge computing technology implementation initiatives and use cases while inviting industry feedback to shape future edge computing offerings for operational end-users. Interested vendors will have opportunities to dialogue with CBP personnel who will discuss specific capabilities the agency is seeking. Contractors interested in demonstrating products that align with the information presented must register through CBP Business Connect to showcase their solutions. The event is open to all interested vendors and stakeholders without specific eligibility restrictions mentioned. Participants should monitor the posting for updates regarding the rescheduled event date and registration information.
