About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is seeking to procure combustion cases for the F110 gas turbine engine. These components are critical spare parts designed to house the combustion chamber, high-pressure turbine nozzle, high-pressure turbine shroud, and related fuel system components. The combustion cases must be manufactured from Inconel 718 Alloy and meet stringent qualification requirements that currently limit the qualified source to General Electric Company. The procurement involves technology with military applications, though the extent of foreign participation has not yet been determined. Responsible sources are invited to submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations for consideration. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on February 2, 2026, with a response deadline of February 17, 2026, allowing potential offerors approximately two weeks to express interest and prepare for the formal solicitation.
This is an unrestricted procurement with no set-aside designation, and the incumbent contractor is General Electric Company, which received the previous award in July 2025. The Government requires delivery of 24 combustion cases to Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, with a minimum order of 6 units and a maximum of 36 units, with required delivery on or before April 1, 2027. Unit identification requirements apply if the unit price exceeds $5,000. The specific Request for Proposal is designated SPRTA1-26-R-0133, with the original contract history referenced as SPE4A124G0014 and SPRTA125F0227. This procurement does not involve export control restrictions and is based on market research indicating that Part 12 acquisition policies are not applicable to this specialized defense component.
