About this opportunity

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Acquisition and Grant Services has issued a Special Notice for a service maintenance contract related to calibration and technical support for temperature monitoring sensors at the SEAHAFL (Southeast Animal Health and Food Laboratory). The opportunity involves providing annual calibration services for government-owned VPx temperature and humidity sensors, DataTrace MPIII datalogger sensors, and MPRF datalogger sensors. The contract will require comprehensive technical support for diagnostic, troubleshooting, and potential repair of temperature monitoring devices used in regulatory equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and incubators. Specifically, the FDA is seeking a contractor with the capability to perform calibration services using equipment and personnel that meet ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. The agency will document calibration results through ISO/IEC 17025 compliant certificates.

The Special Notice indicates the FDA intends to sole source the contract to MESA LABORATORIES, INC. for a five-year performance period from 4/1/2025 to 3/31/2030, which includes a base year and four option years. Interested contractors must submit responses by 5:00 PM EST on March 18, 2025, via email to the Contract Specialist, Andrea Howard. The procurement will utilize NAICS Code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and will be pursued under FAR 13.501(a)(1)(ii), with potential consideration of alternative sources. The contract requires on-site calibration of 92 VPx sensors, 10 DataTrace MPIII sensors, and 5 MPRF sensors, with each sensor needing annual calibration that meets ISO/IEC 17025 standards and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications. Contractors must be prepared to provide detailed calibration certificates that document results, traceability, and compliance with regulatory standards, as well as handle return shipping of calibrated equipment.
