About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting a market research survey for C-5 Main Landing Gear Hydraulic Brake Assemblies, seeking potential sources with expertise in overhauling these critical aircraft components. The market research targets contractors capable of meeting technical requirements outlined in T.O 16A1-17-4-3, specifically for a spring-released hydraulic brake assembly used in emergency landing gear extension scenarios. Potential contractors must demonstrate technical capabilities to qualify for future solicitations, with a response deadline of April 11, 2025. The government will evaluate responses based on comprehensive capability survey answers covering general business capabilities, overhaul processes, and technical competencies. Interested participants are encouraged to submit detailed documentation demonstrating their ability to meet the complex technical specifications for these aerospace components.
The current solicitation has no specific small business set-aside, though the government will analyze small business responses to determine the final procurement strategy. The projected contract appears structured for multiple years, potentially spanning one basic year plus four one-year ordering periods, with an estimated 56 units required per ordering period. Contractors are advised that participation in this market survey does not guarantee future contract awards, and the government will not reimburse survey participation expenses. Joint ventures and teaming arrangements are explicitly encouraged, with companies invited to highlight potential partnership strategies if they cannot independently fulfill the entire requirement. Technical questions should be directed to Program Manager J. McKenzie Grinstead, Contract Specialist Alyssa Tanner, and Procurement Contracting Officer Phillip Russell, who will oversee the procurement process for these specialized aircraft brake assemblies.
