About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District Fort Worth is conducting a market research survey to determine the domestic availability of Ground Fault Circuit Interruptor (GFCI) receptacles. The market research focuses on specific GFCI characteristics, including 20 amp, 125 vac, 2 pol, 3 wire configurations with self-testing functions, commercial grade quality, and UL 943 listing. Manufacturers interested in demonstrating domestic production capabilities must prove that all manufacturing processes occur in the United States and that 60 percent or more of component costs are from U.S.-sourced materials. Interested firms are requested to submit technical data sheets via email to shenika.m.lewis@usace.army.mil by February 20, 2025, with the subject line "Sources Sought Notice - GFCI". This pre-solicitation notice is strictly a market survey and will not result in an immediate contract award.

The opportunity is not set aside for any specific business category and applies to NAICS codes 238210 (Electrical Contractors) and 335931 (Electrical Outlets Manufacturing). No specific award value or budget range is indicated in the notice, and the document emphasizes that no reimbursement will be provided for information submission. The market research aims to assess domestic manufacturing capabilities for GFCI receptacles with specific technical specifications, including NEMA WD6 compliance, self-grounding features, and status indicating lights. Components of foreign origin that have received nonavailability determinations will be treated as domestic for evaluation purposes. The Corps of Engineers is seeking comprehensive information about potential domestic manufacturers who can meet the specified technical and manufacturing requirements for these electrical components.
