About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is procuring nine buffer cylinder assemblies (NSN 7R-1720-014657848-EY, TDP VER 009) under this pre-solicitation notice. This procurement requires Government source approval prior to contract award due to the flight-critical nature of the item and the inadequacy of available technical data to support full and open competition. The primary qualification requirement mandates that only previously approved sources by the Government have been solicited, though unapproved sources may submit with comprehensive source approval information and relevant technical data demonstrating production experience with the same or similar items. Evaluation will prioritize the contractor's ability to maintain the part's quality through existing unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge. The due date for proposals is December 1, 2025, with a posting date of November 27, 2024.

This procurement includes no set-aside designations and is designated for delivery FOB Origin. The contract covers the acquisition or repair of nine units, with the specific incumbent or current contractor information not disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. No specific award value or budget range is provided in the documentation. Contractors seeking approval as alternate sources must follow the design control activity's qualification procedures and obtain cognizant Government engineering approval, a process that typically requires considerable time and cannot delay contract award. Non-approved sources interested in pursuing this opportunity should consult the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Business Opportunities pages for detailed source approval information and submission requirements.
