About this opportunity

The National Park Service (NPS) Midwest Region is conducting a market survey to assess contractor interest and capabilities for preservation cleaning of limestone details at the Brown v. Board of Education National Historical Park in Topeka, Kansas. The project involves providing labor, materials, tools, and equipment to clean approximately 2,480 square feet of limestone surfaces, including the top four feet of a brick chimney extending above the roof line. Contractors must be registered as a small business in the System for Award Management (SAM) under NAICS code 561790, with a small business size standard of $9.0M. Interested firms are required to submit a Market Research Sources Sought Survey via email to adam_kircher@nps.gov by 1100 CDT on May 9, 2025, including the reference number 140P6025Q0027 in the subject line. The NPS will use the submitted information to determine the acquisition strategy, though this market research does not constitute a formal solicitation or commitment to issue a contract.

The contract opportunity is not set aside for any specific socio-economic category, allowing small businesses, Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSB), HUBZone firms, and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) to participate. The anticipated project start date is August 2025, with a performance period of 90 days after award. While no specific budget range is mentioned, the NAICS code classification suggests potential contractors should have experience in building and dwelling services. The scope of work will be detailed in a future solicitation to be posted on SAM.gov, and any costs associated with responding to the market survey are the responsibility of the participating firms. Contractors should be prepared to provide comprehensive company details, contact information, Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number, and a capability statement demonstrating their ability to perform the specialized limestone preservation cleaning.
