The TACOM Contracting Center (TCC), in Warren, Michigan, intends to solicit, on a full and open competition basis, the Bridge Erection Boat (BEB). This effort consists of two acquisition phases: Phase I Research and Development (R & D) and Phase II Production. The Government intends to award up to two (2) Phase I contracts. This RFP covers only the Phase I (R & D) requirement. The procurement of the R & D Phase requires a BEB capable of running on JP-8 while meeting the key performance parameters of being interoperable, adaptable and resilient. Phase I Key activities shall include development, integration of subassemblies and test support of Government conducted tests. The Government intends to purchase one (1) engine fuel system for a 403 hour NATO modified engine/fuel system bench test and two (2) BEB systems, with an option for a third BEB on each contract, for a 490 hour Pre-Production Qualification Test (PPQT). It is anticipated that the period of performance s hall be twenty-two (22) months. The estimated release date of RFP W56HZV-09-R-0213 is 30 May 2009.
