About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, has issued a Special Notice announcing an Industry Day for the Brandon Road Interbasin Project on April 7, 2026. This special notice invites contractors to participate in an informational session from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Davenport River Center in Davenport, Iowa. The Brandon Road Interbasin Project is a critical infrastructure initiative designed to prevent invasive species, particularly invasive carp, from entering the Great Lakes through a series of electric, hydroacoustic, and bubble deterrent systems. The project will be executed in three construction increments, with the Industry Day focusing specifically on Increment II, which encompasses Flushing Lock and Right Descending Bank construction. This special notice provides potential contractors with advance notice of upcoming contract opportunities and an avenue to engage with the government agency prior to formal solicitation.
The primary purpose of this Industry Day is to inform contractors about the significant infrastructure project and solicit feedback on design improvements that could enhance construction efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Interested contractors must register by April 7, 2026, using the online registration link provided (https://forms.osi.apps.mil/r/EGBRszaBQX). There are no specific eligibility restrictions mentioned in the notice, suggesting that contractors in heavy and civil engineering construction are welcome to attend. The notice includes draft plan sets for both the Flushing Lock and Right Descending Bank Wall components, which will be presented during the session to provide contractors with detailed technical information about the scope of work. By attending, contractors will gain insights into the project requirements and have the opportunity to provide input that may influence the final contract specifications for Increment II.
