Please note, on the 1.4 1301087640 Brand Name (Signed)_Redacted.pdf document, the "Other information to support a sole source or brand name buy" box reads as follows:
"Exact replacement valves are required to avoid costing the government exorbitant amounts of money that it would cost to modify the existing piping and flanges to fit any other valve. Also, any new valve brand would cause excessive amounts of wasted government money on existing spare repair parts. If the valve is replaced with a new valve then those existing repair parts would be useless. In addition not all valve company's material compound are the same and do not last the same amount of time. The requested valve is repaired/replaced only during ship dry dock period which only occur every 5 and/or 10 years. It is historically proven that a valve that is not the requested brand deteriorates before the ships next dry docking costing hundreds of thousands of dollars to emergency dry dock a vessel and jeopardize their mission. The LADISH valve certified distributor must provide official stamped valve drawing, hydrostatic testing data, valve specification sheets, and Regulatory Body Approval documentation from American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) or other recognized Regulatory Body Class Societies for each model valve in the solicitation."
