About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Engineer District, Alaska is conducting market research for a pre-solicitation notice related to the FTW480 Fire Protection Repairs project at Fort Wainwright. The agency seeks to incorporate three specific brand name items into their upcoming FY25 Military Construction (MILCON) project: Monaco MAAP-X with associated device for integration with a Monaco D-12 supervising station, Knox Box Key Vault for system consistency, and a Federal Signal Mass Notification Panel. Interested vendors must submit comprehensive responses including manufacturer details, full specification sheets, and narratives demonstrating how their products meet the specified functional criteria. Responses must be submitted by January 2, 2025, either by mail to the U.S. Army Engineer District in Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson or via email to michelle.nelsen@usace.army.mil. The agency will use these responses to determine whether to pursue a sole source procurement under FAR 6.302-1(c), which allows for brand name specifications when no alternative sources can satisfy agency requirements.

This sources sought notice is not a formal solicitation and carries no set-aside designation. While specific award values are not disclosed, the opportunity is associated with a construction project at Fort Wainwright involving fire protection repairs. The targeted NAICS codes include 334290 for communications equipment manufacturing and 332999 for miscellaneous fabricated metal product manufacturing. The procurement will focus on three specific items that must be fully compatible with existing systems, suggesting a preference for maintaining current technological infrastructure. The notice indicates this is part of a larger FY25 construction contract, implying a potential multi-month or potentially multi-year implementation timeline for the selected equipment and associated installation services.
