About this opportunity
The National Park Service (NPS) Midwest Region is conducting a market survey to assess contractor capabilities for a box culvert installation project at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan. The project involves constructing a single 4-foot wide by 10-foot long box culvert with a natural bottom and a replacement road section, maintaining the existing roadway elevation. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) under NAICS code 237310 (Residential Contractors) and submit a Sources Sought Survey detailing their company information, UEI number, size status, SBA certifications, bonding limits, and capability statements. The market research aims to gather information about potential contractors' interest and qualifications, with responses due by 1200 EST on January 24, 2025, via email to christopher_bauer@nps.gov. Interested firms must reference the project number 140P6425B0002 in their submission, understanding that this is not a formal solicitation and does not guarantee future contract opportunity.
The project does not have a specific set-aside designation and falls under the small business size standard of $45 million. The anticipated construction magnitude ranges between $500,000 and $1 million, with work expected to commence in late April or early May 2025. Contractors are advised to carefully consider their construction bonding capacities when responding to the market survey. The NPS will use the submitted information to develop an acquisition strategy and determine the most appropriate approach for the project. While the current notice is a market research initiative, any future formal solicitation will be posted on SAM.gov, and firms must separately respond to those announcements if they wish to be considered for the actual contract.
