Notice text
Added: Sep 15, 2010 9:45 am Sole Source Intent. The United States Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) Center Yuma, U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground (USAYPG), Arizona, intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis with : Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Bldg 451 Flame Ave, Yuma, AZ 85365. It is anticipated that a Firm Fixed Price contract will be awarded on a sole source basis to the Directorate of Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) located at USAYPG. The USAYPG is located 26 miles from the nearest town of Yuma, AZ. Regular maintenance and immediate repair are required during the operation of the bowling center. The MWR office has the onsite talent to maintain and repair this equipment in a cost effective and timely manner. This distance, combined with the relatively low maintenance volume involved (only six lanes), makes it impracticable to expect cost effective and timely services from another source. Lack of timely maintenance and repair would lead to operational failures and increased costs due to improper care and maintenance of the bowling equipment. If the equipment breaks down, the bowling center will no longer be able to be utilized by the soldiers and civilians residing on or visiting the base. At a remote location like USAYPG, this would be extremely detrimental to the morale and welfare of the base. Unless the circumstance changes, it is not practical or cost effective for personnel other than MWR personnel to operate and maintain the bowling center equipment. MWR personnel are presently onsite and possess the required training to perform the maintenance and repairs. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. All inquiries shall be clearly marked with the solicitation number and e-mailed to the POC listed below or sent by facsimile to (928) 328-6534.
