About this opportunity

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Keyport, a subordinate agency within the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command, is seeking to identify capable contractors to perform corrosion control services on galvanized steel surfaces and mezzanine structures across three buildings. The primary objective is to arrest ongoing corrosion and rust that is currently elevating zinc levels in roof runoff through preventative coating services. A key requirement for all potential contractors is Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 Level 2 certification, which must be verified in the Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS) prior to any contract award. This is a sources sought notice rather than a formal solicitation, making submission of the "Questionnaire for Industry" voluntary with no government financial responsibility for response costs. Interested parties must submit completed questionnaires to john.p.gathu.mil@us.navy.mil by May 4, 2026, which represents the deadline for this pre-solicitation phase.

This opportunity carries no small business set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractor information or estimated award value has been disclosed in the notice. The questionnaire requires respondents to provide their current CMMC 2.0 certification status, capability descriptions, recommended NAICS and FSC/PSC codes, small business status information, estimated project costs, and the calendar days needed post-award to establish operations and begin service delivery. All contractors must adhere to Operations Security (OPSEC) requirements as outlined in the OPSEC Guide for Defense Contractors available on the Naval Sea Systems Command website, and must not include any classified, controlled unclassified, or arms export controlled information in their submissions. While this notice does not constitute a formal Request for Proposal, the questionnaire responses will be used for information planning purposes and may inform the structure of a future formal solicitation if the requirement advances.
