About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 196 turbine engine blades (NSN 7H-2835-014578172) for repair and modification. The specific part is identified as L47573P01, which requires specialized handling due to data rights limitations. The government has determined it is uneconomical to purchase the data rights or reverse engineer the part, making this a targeted procurement for a specific component. Potential offerors must meet qualification requirements at the time of award, in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1. Interested parties have 15 days from the notice date (by May 13, 2025) to identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item, and can obtain necessary specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point's Document Automation and Production Service.
This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, targeting small business vendors capable of meeting the technical specifications for the turbine engine blade. The blades will be delivered to DLA Distribution San Joaquin in Tracy, California (delivery location W62G2T, W1A8). While specific award value is not disclosed, the procurement involves 196 individual units of a highly specialized aerospace component. The solicitation indicates that award will only be made if the offeror, product, or manufacturer meets specific qualification requirements. Potential vendors are advised that the government is not using FAR Part 12 policies for commercial item acquisition in this solicitation, suggesting a more complex technical procurement process with stringent qualification criteria.
