The Regional Health Contracting Office - Pacific (RHCO-P), Hawaii intends to issue a sole source solicitation on or about 20 August 2018 for an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity for the Ventana Medical System Platforms (reagents and instrument): Benchmark Ultra, the Symphony, and the Benchmark Special Stains to be used at Tripler Army Medical Center, Department of Pathology. The aforementioned Ventana Medical System Platforms is the only platform that completely eliminates hazardous waste generation during processing runs, meeting the Government need/requirement to reduce the generation and subsequent costly disposal of hazardous waste. The xylene substitute, alcohol substitute and prepackaged reagents utilized for specimen staining have been cleared by the EPA, OSHA, and the State of Hawaii for straight to drain waste disposal. This is the only instrumentation for this type of testing that is currently xylene and alcohol free, and therefore cleared for straight to drain waste disposal. Ventana is the only source that manufactures this highly specialized item. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334516. The Point of Contact for this requirement is Tae Kim at tae.h.kim76.civ@mail.mil..

The Government seeks a vendor that can provide a Benchmark Ultra, the Symphony, and the Benchmark Special Stains Systems for the Department of Pathology at Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii. The System shall be a xylene/alcohol free (zero hazardous waste generation) system and a system that has limited exposure to stains/reagents (pre-packaged) and fresh stain/reagent for each slide. The Government also has a technical requirement that the system shall be able to interface with current computer software, and that a remote trouble shooting system shall be available that does require the company to access DoD information systems.
