About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is soliciting the procurement of 15 heavy-duty bench grinders through solicitation SPMYM225Q2099. The required equipment consists of Baldor Reliance bench grinders with specific technical specifications including 10-inch wheel diameter, 1800 RPM operation, dual voltage capability (120V/240V AC), and 1 horsepower motors. Contractors must comply with NIST SP 800-171 cybersecurity standards unless the items qualify as Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products, which are exempt from this requirement. Additional requirements include providing a Certificate of Insurance, meeting specific liability insurance standards, and ensuring supply chain traceability and product quality adherence to federal acquisition regulations. The solicitation deadline is July 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with electronic submissions available through SAM.gov, and the government intends to award the contract without conducting discussions.

This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside opportunity, restricting competition to qualifying small business entities. The solicitation does not identify any incumbent contractors or provide specific budget ranges for the contract award. The quantity requirement is clearly specified as 15 units of the heavy-duty bench grinders, with delivery scheduled for June 26, 2025. Performance will take place at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard located in Bremerton, Washington 98314. The procurement falls under NAICS code 332216 for Saw Blade and Handtool Manufacturing and PSC code 5180 for Sets, Kits, and Outfits of Hand Tools, indicating the specialized nature of the equipment being acquired for naval shipyard operations.
