About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 10 bearings (NSN 1H-3120-015957638-D4) with Technical Drawing Package (TDP) Version 001, to be delivered to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. The proposed contract action intends to solicit and negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, though the government will consider proposals from all responsible sources submitted within 45 days of the synopsis publication. Potential contractors are invited to identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, with the understanding that the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The evaluation will focus on the capability statements, proposals, or quotations received, with the primary objective of assessing potential sources for this specialized bearing procurement. The critical response deadline is February 10, 2025, with proposals being reviewed for potential competitive consideration.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside status for this procurement, suggesting it is open to all qualified vendors. The procurement is categorized under PSC Category 3120-P for Plain, Unmounted Bearings, which provides additional context for the technical specifications required. While no specific award value is disclosed, the procurement involves a quantity of 10 individual bearing units, indicating a potentially focused and precise acquisition. The solicitation suggests the government may utilize an existing Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA), which could potentially expedite the procurement process if applicable. The procurement is being managed through the Naval Supply Systems Command, a significant defense procurement entity responsible for critical military logistics and equipment acquisition.
