About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure ball bearings (NSN 3H-3110-010548437-NT) through this pre-solicitation notice. This procurement requires engineering source approval by the design control activity to maintain part quality, as the qualified source or sources possess unique design capabilities, manufacturing expertise, and technical data that are not economically available to the government. Potential suppliers must qualify in accordance with the design control activity's procedures and obtain approval from the cognizant government engineering activity overseeing the part's intended application. The government will evaluate proposals based on the supplier's ability to meet qualification requirements and maintain the stringent quality standards associated with this controlled part. The due date for responses is January 30, 2026, and interested parties can access relevant specifications and standards through ASSIST-Online or by contacting the DoD Single Stock Point at the listed phone numbers.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation and requires the acquisition of six units with delivery FOB origin. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The notice does not identify any current contractors or incumbents, though it indicates that existing approved sources hold proprietary data and manufacturing knowledge essential to maintaining part quality. Alternate sources may compete if they successfully complete the government's qualification procedures and receive approval from the appropriate engineering authority. Interested parties should begin gathering required documentation and specifications immediately, as the qualification process may require substantial time before proposal submission.
