These primary cells require no charging and are used to provide backup power to solar powered systems and to fully power tactical geophysical monitoring for short term responses to volcanic activity. These batteries will provide power at remote monitoring volcano sites with extreme range of temperature and other environmental conditions

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 and 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; solicitation number G17PS00356 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ).

The solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in accordance with Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-95, effective 19 Jan. 2017.

The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 335912 - Primary Battery Manufacturing, and the associated size standards in number of employees: 1000.

To be considered for award, all firms must be registered in the Systems for Award Management database at www.sam.gov.

Responses must be in writing, via email or fax to the Contract Specialist: jmdavis@usgs.gov or fax 916 278 9339.
