About this opportunity

The Nevada Army National Guard has issued a pre-solicitation special notice announcing its intent to conduct a non-competitive procurement for a BAMBI Bucket with Powerfill and 60' Longline system. This notice pertains to solicitation W9124X25Q0021 and indicates the agency plans to directly solicit SEI Industries LTD for a replacement BAMBI Bucket system used on rotary wing aircraft during wildland firefighting operations. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 336413 for Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing and will be conducted under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The agency intends to award the purchase order on or around September 24, 2025, with the due date for this special notice set for the same date.

The purpose of this procurement is to replace a BAMBI Bucket system that was severely damaged during the 2025 fire season, ensuring the Nevada Army National Guard can continue its wildland firefighting mission capabilities wherever called to serve. The justification for sole-source procurement is based on SEI Industries being identified as the sole manufacturer and provider of repair parts for the BAMBI Bucket System, with no alternative sources or aftermarket parts available in the marketplace. Contractors should note that this is a brand-name, non-competitive acquisition exempt from FAR Part 6 competition requirements, meaning only SEI Industries LTD is eligible to participate in this procurement. The contract will be awarded as a firm fixed-price purchase order using Operation and Maintenance Army funds, and will include all applicable FAR and DFARS provisions currently in effect.
