About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District (SAM) has issued a Special Notice for a significant renovation and expansion project at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The notice focuses on Building 9101, which will undergo approximately 49,000 square feet of renovation for the Government Printing Office (GPO) and NASA. The project includes expanding GPO operations, renovating administrative offices, and replacing the building's roof, which covers 300,000 square feet. A critical component of this renovation involves the Fire Alarm System (FAS), which must integrate with existing Siemens XLS and Monaco BT-X systems. The special notice is specifically targeted at understanding the market for potential alternative suppliers of fire alarm system equipment.
The primary purpose of this market survey is to identify alternative sources for the Fire Alarm System that can seamlessly integrate with the existing infrastructure at Stennis Space Center. Contractors interested in participating must submit detailed documentation by December 30, 2024, including the manufacturer's name, unique entity identifier, product data, and a written statement demonstrating their product's compatibility with existing systems. The notice is set aside for small businesses and requires respondents to provide a list of similar projects, their locations, and contact information. Eligible contractors must show their fire alarm system can fully integrate with the existing Siemens XLS panel, support addressable fire alarm signals, and meet the project's specific technical requirements. Responses should be emailed to specified government contacts, and while this is not a formal solicitation, all submitted information will be considered in the government's procurement decision. The opportunity is part of a broader initiative to standardize and optimize facility operations and maintenance costs at the center.
