THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. The purpose of this notice is to identify potential companies that are capable and qualified to provide the services required in accordance with the salient characteristics. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary, and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government.

This Sources Sought Announcement is issued solely for informational and planning purposes only and is not a solicitation. DO NOT submit a quote or proposal in response to this synopsis. Market research is being conducted to determine interest and capability of potential sources for the requirement. All information received in response to this announcement that is marked "Proprietary" will be handled accordingly. Proprietary information will not be returned.


A Government requirement is being developed, and a contract may or may not result. The following details explain what would be required if a solicitation and contract do result:


• The contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, parts, equipment, travel, and labor necessary to perform rebuilding of seven Cooling Tower pumps in the Central Utilities Plant located at Schriever Air Force Base (SAFB) 80912.


• The contractor shall:
1.) Rebuild Vertical Turbine Water Pump with fabricated (new) parts to include: 12" steel Discharge Head to match the critical dimension of existing AC Head, (1) Stage 14 " Bowl assembly, cast iron Bowl with a bronze Impeller, 12" plain steel threaded Column, Suction Bell, threaded Discharge Case, Open Line stainless steel 416 Shaft, and stainless steel Basket Strainer. Rebuild must include "Steady Bushing" for the existing 100 hp electric motor to be compatible with the pump shaft's mechanical seal.
2.) Provide start-up service after installation to ensure proper operation (CUP personnel will remove pumps from the sumps before rebuilds and install after rebuilds).


• Pump Specifications:
- For the pumps for Cooling Towers 1 - 5, the manufacturer is Allis-Chalmers. They are type VT, size H14X10, and have a GPM rating of 3,000.
For the pumps for Cooling Towers 6 & 7, the manufacturer is American Industrial & Submersible Pump Co., they are Model #: 14M27 0-2 and have a GPM rating of 3,325.


The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is anticipated to be 333914, Measuring, Dispensing, and Other Pump Equipment Manufacturing. The size standard is 750 employees. Please notify contacts listed below if you believe a different NAICS is more applicable to this requirement.


All responsible, capable, and interested business concerns serious about potentially submitting a response to any subsequent RFQ or RFP to provide these services are invited to respond.



Any interested business concern shall provide the following:
• Company name, address, point of contact, telephone number and e-mail address.
• Business size (if SB provides proof of certification, etc.) under NAICS 333914, Measuring, Dispensing, and Other Pump Equipment Manufacturing.
• SAM (System for Award Management) CAGE Code (if any)
• Please also answer the following questions:
1.) Which of the following would you see as your role in the performance of this potential requirement? (a) Prime contractor; (b) Subcontractor; or (c) Other (please describe if Other).
2.) Approximately how long will the rebuild of each pump require?
